*****IMPORTANT - PLEASE READ*****
Auditions for the ADVANCED ENSEMBLES - INSTRUCTIONS
1. You will need to email me for an audition time and I will get you on the calendar for your audition(s).
2. Make sure you indicate the date and time - see the dates and times below. The auditions will be about 15 min.
3. You will enter the Music Wing from the outside entrance by near the tennis court parking lot.
4. Do not arrive more than 10 min. before your scheduled audition time.
5. Please be warmed up and prepared to play when you arrive. You will be able to play a few warm-up notes to hear the room, but I am not have access to practice rooms for a full warm-up.
6. Once you have completed your audition, you need to leave the building.
REMEMBER: the most important thing with auditions is that I hear you play and get a sense of your desire for playing in one of the advanced ensembles. I look forward to hearing you play and hope that you are looking forward to our short time together!
PERCUSSION: You will need to focus on the snare solo and one of the mallet solos - you choose which. If you choose to prepare both mallet solos, you may - however, one solo played well is better than two that are not prepared. I will have a drum and mallet instrument for you to play on. PLEASE BRING YOUR OWN MALLETS AND STICKS!
JAZZ (drums): I will have a drum kit for you to audition on. Be working on those different grooves as much as possible!
Please feel free to contact me for clarification of the process. Also, if you are unable to audition on the dates and times listed for each of the groups, please let me know and we can make alternative plans. HOWEVER, all auditions need to be done the first week of May.
